Featured, News — By Samer Marzouq on January 1, 2011 at 1:13 pmCanon Middle East has teamed up with Dubai Internet City, a member of TECOM Investments, to encourage local photography talent in the UAE through a photography competition titled “Celebrations”. The competition, which runs until 23rd January 2011, is targeted at budding photographers who can participate by submitting an image reflecting this theme for a chance to win a state of the art Canon DSLR camera – the EOS 60 D.
Three runner up entries will also win cutting edge DSLR cameras including the EOS 550D, EOS 500D and an EOS 1000D respectively.
“Canon Middle East is committed to supporting photography in the region and ensuring it is accessible to everyone, regardless of their ability or experience. The Canon Photography Competition is great platform to nurture and recognise local talent. As a world leader of imaging technology Canon is at the forefront of photographic innovation and aims to share its expertise with budding photographers in communities across the region,” said Hendrik Verbrugghe, Marketing Director, Canon Middle East.
“It is clear that the digital boom has made photography a more accessible hobby than ever before, and, with its colour, excitement and emotion, what better subject matter is there for the enthusiastic amateur photographer than ‘celebration’? With the recent festivities such as Eid Al Adha, Christmas and New Year just around the corner, it’s the perfect opportunity for amateur photographers to showcase and win exciting prizes for their work. We look forward to receiving some amazing images that demonstrate creativity and anticipate a great response from the nation’s talented amateur photographers,” added Verbrugghe
