Dubizzle.com shares insights on the importance of community websites at ArabNet
Dubizzle.com, the leading free classifieds and community website for users in the Middle East and North Africa, participated in the ArabNet “Shift Digital Summit”, the largest gathering for the Arab digital and technology industry from March 23-25 2011. During the summit, J.C. Butler, co-founder of Dubizzle.com was a panelist in a workshop titled: Building Local Content and Communities.
“ArabNet is an outstanding platform for entrepreneurs to introduce and showcase their companies. Community websites help the region evolve and grow and it has been great to see all the people responsible for them at Arabnet,” explained Sim Whatley, co-Founder of Dubizzle.
Dubizzle.com raised funds for the Red Crescent and Red Cross at ArabNet. An interactive map was created covering the 14 countries where Dubizzle.com is available. Participants from the region pegged their photo on the country of their origin and $3 went to that country’s Red Crescent and Red Cross representative.
“We’re very proud of the way Dubizzle has grown in the last few years and Lebanon is a great new market for us. It is a country with a lot of opportunities and we will be reaching out to the Lebanese community through our site,” explained Aiham Jaabari, Levant Marketing Manager, Dubizzle.
Dubizzle, the UAE’s free classifieds and community website, is now available in Lebanon.
