The Role
Our client, a leading source of business intelligence, is seeking a Supplements Editor in Dubai to edit and control supplement content in print and online, ensuring that the highest standards of content are maintained.
Reporting to the Analysis Editor, your main responsibilities in this role will include:
• Leading the supplements programme – planning and driving the content and production processes
• Exercising your developed knowledge of the features process, coupled with sound editorial instinct, judgment and leadership to create must-read, quality and differentiated editorial products.
• Liaising with the head of sales to draw up supplements in accordance with the editorial and commercial needs and expectations.
• Contributing a significant amount to the content of the publications whether through your own writing, editing or through the guidance and coaching of writers and features staff.
• Taking responsibility for supplements budgets, as agreed with the Editor.
Requirements
If you have:
• A recognised journalist qualification equivalent to NCTJ standard
• Previous experience as a commissioning editor on a quality business website or publication
• Knowledge of economics, business and Arabic is beneficial
• Impeccable journalist skills and instinctive editorial judgement, able to work to tight deadlines
• Management skills (coaching and mentoring skills essentials) and are able to anticipate and plan people and resources accordingly; and
• You are determined, tenacious, creative, enthusiastic and energetic.
The salary is up to 20,000 aed.
